Acute hydrogen-rich water ingestion stimulates cardiac autonomic activity in healthy females

چکیده

Background: Hydrogen-rich water (HRW) has been shown to have a stimulating effect on the human body. Objective: The aim of study was assess influence acute HRW intake autonomic cardiac regulation during 50 min rest sitting. Methods: Fourteen healthy females (age 21.7 ± 1.2 years, body mass 67.8 8.7 kg, height 167 5.5 cm) took part in this double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial with crossover design. Heart rate variability (HRV) monitored sitting position after administration 1260 ml or placebo. Time domain indexes HRV as square root mean squares differences between adjacent RR intervals (RMSSD), standard deviation all (SDNN) and ratio SDNN/RMSSD an index sympatho-vagal balance were used response. values transformed using natural logarithm (Ln). Results: After HRW, we found significantly increased Ln when comparing it placebo 25 (HRW: 0.40 0.30, placebo: 0.26 0.25, p = .049) 35 0.44 0.28 0.28, .029) SDNN compared 45 4.41 0.42 ms, 4.28 0.31 Conclusions: Acute ingestion induced relative increase sympathetic activity post-ingestion, whereas vagal not affected.

Cardiac Autonomic Activity in Young Females with Primary Dysmenorrhea

Various studies have reported the effect of different phases of normal menstrual cycle on the autonomic control over the cardiac activity using heart rate variability (HRV) analysis. However, information on cardiac autonomic activity in young females suffering from primary dysmenorrhea (PD) is scant. Hence, the aim of the present study was to assess the HRV and blood pressure (BP) in different ...

Cardiac effects of acute ethanol ingestion unmasked by autonomic blockade.

We assessed the effects of ethanol and autonomic blockade on left ventricular function in nine normal subjects, age 20--35 years, using M-mode echocardiography and systolic time intervals. On day 1, measurements were made of heart rate, mean velocity of circumferential fiber shortening, and left ventricular pre-ejection period and left ventricular ejection time ratio (PEP/LVET), during a contro...

Presyncopal cardiac contractility and autonomic activity in young healthy males.

We investigated non-invasively cardiac contractility and autonomic nervous activity during presyncopal orthostatic stress induced in healthy humans. A graded orthostatic stress (GOS) paradigm, consisting of head-up tilt (HUT) combined with lower body negative pressure (LBNP) of increasing magnitude, was used to reach a presyncopal end-point in 15 healthy adults. Continuous beat-to-beat hemodyna...

Comparison of cardiac autonomic activity between malnourished and healthy children.

Severe malnutrition can significantly compromise autonomic nervous system. However, less is known about the cardiac autonomic activity in mild and moderate grades of malnutrition in children. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the effect of mild/moderate malnutrition on heart rate variability (HRV), a non invasive tool to estimate the cardiac autonomic activity. A cross sectio...

Hydrogen-rich water for improvements of mood, anxiety, and autonomic nerve function in daily life

Health and a vibrant life are sought by everyone. To improve quality of life (QOL), maintain a healthy state, and prevent various diseases, evaluations of the effects of potentially QOL-increasing factors are important. Chronic oxidative stress and inflammation cause deteriorations in central nervous system function, leading to low QOL. In healthy individuals, aging, job stress, and cognitive l...
